The new anime series, Blue Miburo, based on Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s manga, is set to premiere on October 19th. The second promotional video and key visual were released recently, showcasing the historical Shinsengumi characters. The opening theme song, “Ao” by SPYAIR, was also previewed in the video.

The anime follows the protagonist Nio, voiced by Shūichirō Umeda, and features a talented cast including Yōhei Azakami, Kenshō Ono, Chiaki Kobayashi, Shun Horie, Ryōta Takeuchi, and Tomokazu Sugita as other prominent characters in the series. The series is directed by Kumiko Habara and written by Kenta Ihara, with character design by Yūko Ōba and Miyako Nishida.

The story revolves around Nio, an orphan dreaming of a better world, who meets two men that change history with their swords. The manga, licensed in English as “The Blue Wolves of Mibu,” explores the founding of the Shinsengumi by passionate and complex individuals fighting for justice and their own desires.

Yasuda’s previous works include the popular soccer manga, DAYS, which was adapted into a television anime in 2016. The new anime promises to deliver action-packed samurai adventures in a setting reminiscent of Rurouni Kenshin.

Fans can catch the premiere of Blue Miburo on YTV and NTV channels, and their affiliates, airing on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. Stay tuned for more excitement and drama as the series unfolds the tale of these intriguing historical characters.
