Happinet recently unveiled more cast members and a key visual for the upcoming anime adaptation of Egumi Sora’s manga, “Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsurasugiru.” The newly announced cast members include Shino Shimoji as Yae Agena, Shugo Nakamura as Tensuke Uema, and Kentarō Kumagai as Isao Shimoji. These additions join the already announced main cast of Takeo Ōtsuka, Akari Kitō, and Fairouz Ai.

The anime is set to premiere in January 2025 on various television channels, including TOKYO MX and BS11. The story follows Teruaki Nakamura, a boy who moves from Tokyo to Okinawa and falls for a girl named Hina Kyan. However, Teruaki struggles to understand Hina’s Okinawan dialect, with the help of her friend Kana Higa, who secretly harbors feelings for him.

The chief director of the anime is Shin Itagaki, known for works like “Teekyū” and “Berserk,” while Shingo Tanabe is directing the series at Millepensee. Tomohiro Yoshida serves as the character designer, with music by Tomohisa Ishikawa, Yoshimi Katayama, and Ayano Kinjō. Studio Mausu is handling sound production, and Hodaka Fukumura is the dialect coach.

Additionally, the “Shima Kutuba A-I-U-E-O” project will see Kitō and Fairouz Ai introducing 50 words from the local Okinawan dialect on social media. The manga, which started in 2020, has achieved success with 350,000 copies in circulation. Fans can look forward to a heartwarming romantic comedy that explores language barriers and hidden feelings in a charming Okinawan setting.
