The first season of UniteUp! premiered in January 2023, and it was streamed on Crunchyroll. The story follows Akira Kiyose, a high school student scouted by the entertainment agency “sMiLea Production” after his singing videos gain popularity online. Together with Banri Naoe and Chihiro Isuzugawa, they aim to make their idol debut inspired by other idol groups from the same agency.
The project features various idol groups like Protostar, Legit, Jaxx Jaxx, and AneLa, each with their unique characters and stories. Sony Music launched the YouTube project in December 2021 to showcase different artists and talents. With a blend of music, idol culture, and friendship, UniteUp! -Uni:Birth- promises an exciting and heartwarming story for anime fans to enjoy.
