A new key visual has been unveiled for the Given: Umi E anime film, which started screening in Japanese theaters on September 20, 2024. This movie is a continuation of Given: Hiiragi Mix, which debuted in Japan on January 27, 2024, and serves as a sequel to the 2019 Given TV anime series and the 2020 anime film.

The film is directed by Noriko Hashimoto, with Mina Osawa as the character designer and Yuniko Ayana as the scriptwriter. Lerche is responsible for the animation production.

The main voice cast of the anime includes Shogo Yano as Mafuyu, Yuma Uchida as Ritsuka, Masatomo Nakazawa as Haruki, Takuya Eguchi as Akihiko, Fumiya Imai as Hiiragi, and Taito Ban as Shizusumi.

Based on the Boys’ Love manga by Natsuki Kizu, the original series was serialized in Shinshokan’s Chéri+ magazine from April 30, 2013, to March 30, 2023, spanning a total of nine tankobon volumes. The manga also inspired an epilogue spin-off titled Given 10th mix in 2024 and an audio drama in 2016.

VIZ Media’s SuBLime imprint releases the Given manga in English, providing a synopsis that follows Ritsuka Uenoyama as he discovers a new passion for playing guitar when he meets Mafuyu Sato. The power of Mafuyu’s song deeply impacts Uenoyama, transforming his perspective on music and life.
