Twin Engine, a prominent company in the anime and manga industry, has recently announced an exciting opportunity for aspiring manga artists. They will be hosting the “Twin Engine Shinjin Manga Audition” and have already begun accepting submissions. Winners of the contest will have the chance to be featured in a new manga label and web manga magazine set to launch in the spring of 2025.
The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of 300,000 yen, along with guaranteed serialization rights for their work. The second-place winner will be awarded 50,000 yen and the opportunity to have a one-shot manga published. Additionally, the third-place winner will receive 10,000 yen worth of Amazon gift certificates and guidance from an editor.
The submission deadline for the contest is January 31st, and the winners will be announced in late February. One notable aspect of this contest is that there are no restrictions on the genre of the submissions, allowing both professionals and amateurs to participate. Detailed submission guidelines can be found on the contest’s website, although it is currently available only in Japanese.
This initiative from Twin Engine comes on the heels of another exciting announcement they made in collaboration with Straight Edge. The “Anime de Sekai e! Shōsetsu Taishō” literary award, also known as the “Aniseka Novel Award,” offers the winner the opportunity to have their novel adapted into an anime. Submissions for this award are open until December 5th, with selections and announcements scheduled for early 2025.
With a total of 16 animation studios participating as judges for the award, the winners of both the manga contest and the novel award can look forward to a promising future in the industry. Twin Engine’s commitment to supporting new talent and providing opportunities for creators to showcase their work is commendable and will undoubtedly lead to exciting new developments in the world of manga and anime.
