The official website of the Touhai: Ura Rate Mahjong Touhai Roku TV anime revealed new information on Thursday. Along with the main visual, three additional cast members were announced, and a third promotional video was released. The anime is set to premiere on October 5 at 2:23 a.m. on MBS and TBS, followed by BS-TBS, RKB, and HBC.

The new cast members include Toshihiko Seki as Hideharu Seki, Takehito Koyasu as Hatakeyama, and Youko Hikasa as Ai. The opening theme “Gambling Hall” will be performed by singer-songwriter Masayoshi Oishi, while the ending theme “Plastic Showcase” will be performed by the idol group Taiyo to Odore, Tsukiyo ni Utae.

Jun Hatori is directing the TV anime at East Fish Studio, with Mariko Kunisawa handling the series composition and Sayaka Anezaki designing the characters. Yuusuke Shirato and Yuuki Kishida are also part of the team, composing the music for the series.

The anime is based on Kouji Shinasaka’s strategy game manga, which originally ran in Young Champion Magazine from 2006 to 2011. Shinasaka later released two manga sequels, with the final volume of the second sequel shipping in August 2021. A new sequel manga titled Touhai: Cold Girl began serialization in September 2021.
