Crunchyroll has announced the upcoming release of the first season of Sound! Euphonium on Blu-ray with an all-new English dub. This release is scheduled for December 17 and will include all 13 episodes of the season, along with the “Kakedasu Monaka” original video anime (OVA) episode that was included in the Japanese home video release.

This marks the first time that a television anime entry in the Sound! Euphonium franchise will receive an English dub. Previously, only the films Sound! Euphonium The Movie – Our Promise: A Brand New Day and Liz and the Blue Bird had English dubs.

The Sound! Euphonium franchise, based on Ayano Takeda’s novel series, follows the trials of a high school concert band. The story focuses on Kumiko Ōmae, who starts off indecisive but grows through her journey in the band, mirroring the group’s development from a casual school band to a competitive one.

The franchise includes multiple anime series, films, and compilation movies, with the latest installment being Sound! Euphonium 3, which aired its 13-episode season earlier this year. This season follows Kumiko in her third and final year of high school.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to experiencing the first season with a brand new English dub, adding another layer of enjoyment to this beloved series. Stay tuned for more updates on the release and where to get your hands on a copy.
