The Aniplex Online Fest 2024 event recently announced exciting updates for the upcoming second season of the beloved anime series, Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan. Fans can look forward to a new cast, opening theme, second key visual, and a third promotional video. The new season is set to premiere on October 4th at 12:55 a.m. on Fuji TV’s noitaminA programming block.

Some of the new cast members include Haruka Tomatsu as Yumi Komagata, Wataru Hatano as Anji Yuukyuuzan, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Chou Sawagejou. The talented staff behind the series includes director Yuki Komada, assistant director Yoshitaka Makino, and series composition by Hideyuki Kurata, with script supervision by the original creator of Rurouni Kenshin, Nobuhiro Watsuki.

The opening theme “Iranai mono” will be performed by Tatsuya Kitani and Natori, giving fans a sneak peek in the promotional video. The anime is based on Nobuhiro Watsuki’s manga, which first appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump in the 1990s. The sequel manga, Hokkaido-hen, was launched in 2016 and has been well-received by fans.
