In the latest release of Your Forma, volume 3 takes readers on a new case with Electronic Investigator Echika and her Amicus partner Harold. This time, the duo is investigating a hacker known as E who has been leaking classified police information and causing civil unrest. As Echika struggles with a big secret and Harold’s abilities, they are sent to Paris to uncover E’s identity.
The story in this volume focuses on a cat-and-mouse game, similar to the first volume, but it is considered the weakest of the three books. The separation of Echika and Harold leads to a lack of the usual buddy-cop dynamic, making the story feel a bit hollow. Despite this, the futuristic setting and real-life inspired crimes still make it an interesting read.
Yen Press has done a great job translating the book, with no notable issues, and the color pages by illustrator Tsubata Nozaki add to the experience. Although volume 3 may not be the strongest in the series, it sets the stage for future cases and developments. With volumes 4, 5, and 6 already available in English, fans can look forward to more mysteries and adventures from Echika and Harold in the future.
