Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX CG Anime Reveals Theme Song Artists
The upcoming film, Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX, has announced the artists behind its theme song. Tsumugi and Ito, the guinea pig “voice actors” in the film, will be performing the song titled “Pui! Pui! MAX!” The music is composed by Harami and arranged by Shinichi Osawa. The movie is set to premiere in Japan on November 29.
In addition to the theme song announcement, it was revealed that Masaki Aiba and Akio Ōtsuka will be voicing characters in the film. Aiba will voice the CEO of the “Many Many Eyes Company,” while Ōtsuka will voice Dodge’s driver. This film will feature human characters with voiced lines for the first time, marking Aiba’s anime voice acting debut.
The story of the film follows the introduction of a high-tech Molcar in Molcity, where AI-driven Molcars are becoming popular among drivers. Potato and his friends find themselves caught up in a chase involving a mysterious organization and a Molcar AI named Kanon. They are saved by a skilled driver and learn about his search for his missing Molcar, Dodge. Potato then comes up with a plan to use Kanon’s AI abilities to help find Dodge.
Directed by Mankyū, with Tomoki Misato as the chief supervisor, and Yuuko Kakihara as the scriptwriter, the film promises to bring a new adventure to fans of the Pui Pui Molcar series. The original stop-motion series premiered in January 2021 and gained popularity worldwide. The franchise has also expanded to include a smartphone game called Pui Pui Molcar Mogu Mogu Parking.
