Gree recently revealed a teaser visual, full staff, and four main cast members for the upcoming television anime adaptation of the light novel series “Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter” by Riku Nanano and illustrator cura. The cast includes Yūto Uemura as Allen, Hime Sawada as Tina, Kyōka Moriya as Elly, and Ikumi Hasegawa as Lydia.
The story follows Allen, a young sorcerer who, after failing his dream job’s final exam at the royal court, seeks a simple life in the countryside. However, he finds himself in need of a job and ends up as a private tutor for Tina, the daughter of the powerful noble Duke Howard. Despite Tina’s academic brilliance, she struggles to cast spells, posing a challenge for Allen as they prepare for the Royal Academy’s entrance exams.
The anime is set to premiere in 2025, with Nobuyoshi Nagayama directing at Studio Blanc. Other staff members include Kazuya Ishiguri as the assistant director, Megumi Shimizu overseeing the series scripts, and Akiko Toyoda designing the characters. Kei Haneoka will compose the music for the series.
The novel series is currently available in English through J-Novel Club. The story, originally serialized on the Kakuyomu website, follows Allen’s journey to help Tina overcome her magical impairment and prepare for the Royal Academy exams. The series has been well-received, with the 17th volume released in July.
