TV Asahi announced that the Doraemon anime will have a special opening sequence starting on November 9 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Doraemon film series in 2025. The new opening will feature scenes from various films in the franchise and will be accompanied by Mao’s “Yume wo Kanaete Doraemon” song, which was the third opening song for the current TV series. The current opening sequence, performed by Gen Hoshino, has been in use for the past five years, but it will be replaced after the episode on November 2.

The Doraemon manga, created by Fujiko Fujio, debuted in 1969 and has since inspired three TV anime series, television specials, and yearly anime films. The upcoming 44th film, “Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Esekai Monogatari (The Tale of Nobita’s Picture World),” is set to premiere in Japan on March 7, 2025. Fans can look forward to the new opening sequence that will pay homage to the beloved franchise’s long history and iconic moments.
