Kyoto Animation recently announced that they will be producing a film for the popular Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid franchise. The film, titled “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved,” is set to be released in 2025. Directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, the film will feature the returning cast members Mutsumi Tamura as Kobayashi, YĆ«ki Kuwahara as Tohru, and Maria Naganawa as Kanna.

The Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid manga, created by Coolkyoushinja, first debuted in Monthly Action magazine in May 2013. It has since gained a large following and inspired an anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation that premiered in January 2017. The series follows the story of Kobayashi, a woman who one day encounters a dragon named Tohru and invites her to live with her as a maid.

The success of the anime led to a second season, titled “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S,” which aired in July 2021. The franchise has also spawned several spin-off manga series, all of which have been well-received by fans.
