Girls Band Cry TV Anime Gets 2 Compilation Films

The Girls Band Cry television anime will be getting two compilation films as announced at the second live Togenashi Togeari concert in Kawasaki City. The concert also revealed that the band will have their fifth concert at the Pacifico Yokohama venue on February 7, 2025. The staff will be holding auditions for new band members and cast members for the upcoming smartphone game.

Toei Animation describes the anime as following the story of a main character who drops out of high school in her second year and aims to enter a university while working alone in Tokyo. The anime explores themes of betrayal, survival, and finding a place where one belongs through the journey of the main characters.

The anime features a talented cast including RINA as Nina Iseri, Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi, Mirei as Subaru Awa, Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka, and Syuri as Rupa. The staff announced that Mirei and Natsu will be on a temporary hiatus due to health reasons, while the remaining cast members will continue their performances.

Directed by Kazuo Sakai and with series composition by Jukki Hanada, the anime originally premiered on April 5 and ran for 13 episodes. Toei Animation released the anime digitally in English in North America on August 13. Additionally, Indonesia’s Catchplay+ streaming service began streaming the anime with Indonesian and English subtitles, while a Thai distributor announced plans for a Thai dub.

The anime has garnered attention for its compelling story and strong performances from the cast.
