Gintama Spinoff Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi Shares Release Month
A new Gintama spinoff light novel series called 3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei, or Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi, written by Tomohito Ōsaki, is set to receive an anime adaptation in October of next year. This exciting news was revealed during the Gintama Channel 4th Year Anniversary & Gintoki Sakata Sudden Emergence Anniversary 2024 livestream event.
The announcement was accompanied by a video that showcased a sign outside a classroom and some preliminary sketches related to the spinoff series. Fans were given a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming adaptation.
Additionally, a new trailer for Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi is scheduled to be released on December 21 at Jump Festa 2025. This trailer is expected to provide audiences with more insight into the story and characters of the spinoff.
The visual of Ginpachi from Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi alongside Gintoki from Gintama was also unveiled, further building anticipation for the upcoming anime adaptation.
While the Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi light novels have not been licensed in America, shorts based on the series have been featured at the end of some Gintama anime episodes. The spinoff is set in Gintama High School and focuses on Ginpachi Sakata, a teacher at the school.
Production for Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi is being handled by BN Pictures, with Natsumi Higashida serving as the director. The series composition is being overseen by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and Mitei Mark II.
The cast for the anime adaptation includes Tomokazu Sugita as Ginpachi Sakata, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Shinpachi Shimura, Rie Kugimiya as Kagura, and other talented voice actors bringing the characters to life.
VIZ Media, known for publishing the original Gintama manga by Hideaki Sorachi, has described the series as a wild ride filled with sleazy alien moneylenders, rampaging monsters, and ticking time bombs. The first volume sets the stage for the quirky adventures of Gin and his companions.
