Shisui Meikyou and tef’s light novel series, Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, is set to receive an anime adaptation in 2025. The story follows Light, who is betrayed by his former comrades and finds himself in the dangerous Abyss dungeon. Using his magical skill, the Unlimited Gacha, Light summons powerful allies to help him seek revenge on those who betrayed him.
The series, which began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2020, has since been published in print by Hobby Japan with illustrations by tef. The manga adaptation by Takashi Ohmae is also available on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website, with Seven Seas holding the license for the English release.
