Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe’s manga series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, has recently announced a two-week hiatus. This is not the first break the series has taken this year, but fans can expect its return in the combined second and third 2025 issue, which will be available in Japan on December 11, 2024.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End follows the story of an elf mage named Frieren who, after defeating the Demon King and bringing peace to the land, must navigate the complexities of life and mortality. As an elf, Frieren will outlive her fellow adventurers, leading her to question the true meaning of life and companionship. Decades after their victory, Frieren is faced with the funeral of a friend, forcing her to confront her own immortality and embark on a new adventure to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades.

Since its debut in 2020, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has received critical acclaim, winning the 2021 14th Manga Taisho Award and the 2021 New Creator Prize for the 25th Annual Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. The series is also available in English through VIZ Media.

Fans of the series can look forward to the return of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End after its brief hiatus, as Frieren continues her journey of self-discovery and adventure in a world where time affects beings differently. Stay tuned for the upcoming second and third 2025 issue to continue following Frieren’s epic tale.
