The popular manga series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, will be taking a short break for two weeks, as announced in the latest issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. The manga, created by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, recently returned from a hiatus in May and will resume with the combined second and third issue of 2025 on December 11.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End first debuted in April 2020 and has since gained a significant following. The series has had a few hiatuses in the past, with the most recent one in January 2023 before returning to serialization in March of the same year. The manga has been well-received, with Shogakukan releasing multiple compiled volumes, including the 13th volume in April 2024. Additionally, Viz Media has licensed the manga for an English release, with the 11th volume set to be released on September 10.

The manga’s popularity has only continued to grow, with over 17 million copies now in circulation. The success of the manga also led to the production of an anime adaptation, which premiered with a two-hour special in September 2023. The anime has been confirmed for a second season, much to the delight of fans.
