Nintendo recently announced during the Grand Festival event that Splatoon 3 will no longer receive regular updates. Despite this, special seasonal splatfests like Splatoween and Frosty Fest will continue with returning themes, along with updates for weapon adjustments. The in-game events Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will also persist for the near future.

The Grand Festival was a three-day in-game event with special performances and free in-game gear that took place from September 12-15. In addition, Nintendo of America held the “Splatoon World Championship 2024” tournament and the “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship 2024” tournament on April 13-14 in Japan.

Splatoon 3, the latest installment in Nintendo’s Splatoon series, was released in September 2022 and quickly became a hit, selling 3.45 million copies in Japan within the first three days of its release. Despite the end of regular updates, fans can still look forward to engaging in their favorite in-game events and splatfests for some time to come.
