Dragon Ball Daima Anime’s English Dub Screening Trailer and Voice Preview on November 10-12
Toei Animation has announced the exciting news that the English dub for the first three episodes of the Dragon Ball Daima anime series will have its world premiere in U.S. theaters on November 10-12 in collaboration with Fathom Events. Fans can get a sneak peek of the English dub through the recently released trailer, which showcases both new and returning voices.
The anime is set to debut on a new anime programming block on Fuji TV, airing on Fridays at 11:40 p.m. (10:40 a.m. EDT) starting on October 11. Interestingly, the first episode will have a runtime 10 minutes longer than the standard duration.
Excitement is building as the Dragon Ball Daima series will have its world premiere at a special event called “Dragon Ball Daimatsuri,” taking place on October 6 at Tokyo Big Sight. The event, which combines the words “Daima” and “matsuri” (festival), will feature three screenings of the anime’s first episode at 10:00 a.m., 2:15 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., with cast members in attendance during the first two screenings. This event, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the series, is free to attend but requires a lottery for ticket distribution.
Behind the scenes, Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are serving as series directors, with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru adapting the character designs by the legendary Akira Toriyama for animation. Yuuko Kakihara is overseeing and writing the series scripts, with Toriyama himself credited for the story and character designs of the new anime.
Musically, Zedd feat. C&K. (CLIEVY and KEEN) will perform the opening theme song “Jaka Jaan,” while ZEDD feat. Ai will perform the ending theme song “Nakama” (Companions), a song composed specifically for the anime by Zedd and with lyrics by singer-songwriter Ai.
In Dragon Ball Daima, the familiar characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma find themselves transformed into younger versions of themselves. This unique premise sets the stage for a fresh take on the beloved Dragon Ball universe, offering a new twist on the characters’ journeys.
The Dragon Ball franchise has a long history, with Dragon Ball Super airing from 2015 to 2018, spanning 131 episodes. The popularity of the series led to a successful streaming run on platforms like Funimation and Crunchyroll, as well as home video releases by Funimation. The franchise also expanded into movies, with Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero premiering in Japan in 2022 and later in the United States.
