Crunchyroll recently announced that they will be screening the Bocchi the Rock! anime compilation films as a single theatrical release titled BOCCHI THE ROCK! Recap Part 1 & 2. The screening will take place in the U.S. and Canada on October 6-8, in the U.K. on October 7, in France on October 15, and in Australia on October 17. The combined films have a total runtime of 165 minutes.

The second compilation film, Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:, opened in Japan on August 9 and earned around US$1.46 million in its first three days. The first film, Bocchi the Rock! Re:, opened on June 7 and made around US$1.38 million in its initial days. The opening sequence of the first film features new animation set to Kessoku Band’s new song “Tsukinami ni Kagayaki” (Sparkle as Usual).

The anime is based on Aki Hamaji’s four-panel manga Bocchi the Rock!, which follows the story of Hitori “Bocchi-chan” Gotō, a lonely high school girl who loves playing her guitar. Her life changes when she meets Nijika Ijichi, who is searching for a guitarist for her band named “Kessoku Band.”

Directed by Keiichirō Saitō and produced by CloverWorks, the series was supervised and written by Erika Yoshida, with character designs by Kerorira. The film adaptation has been well-received by audiences and fans of the original manga.
