Kadokawa recently announced two new cast members for the upcoming anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi’s manga, “Detectives These Days Are Crazy!” The character video introduces Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Yū Asunaro and Aya Hirano as Hana Kazamaki.
In the series, Yū Asunaro is an active high school detective from the Asunaro Detective Agency, while Hana Kazamaki is Yū’s cool and slightly mysterious assistant. The anime is set to premiere in 2025 and will feature Junichi Suwabe as Keiichirō Nagumo and Kana Hanazawa as Mashiro.
Directed by Rion Kujo, known for works like “Love Doll” and “Samurai Harem,” the anime follows the story of Keiichiro Nagumo, a former renowned detective who is now a middle-aged man out of touch with modern technology. When a high school girl named Mashiro approaches him to be his assistant, their gender-gap detective duo embarks on solving impossible cases.
The manga, originally serialized in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine, has been licensed by One Peace Books for an English release, with the first volume scheduled for April 28, 2025. The story has received positive reception since its debut in 2016, with the 15th volume released in August 2024.
Igarashi, the mangaka behind this series, also created “Senryū Girl,” which inspired a popular anime adaptation in 2019. Their latest work, “Tune In to the Midnight Heart,” began serialization in 2023 and will be available in English in 2025. Fans can look forward to the unique blend of mystery and humor that Igarashi brings to their storytelling.
As we await the premiere of “Detectives These Days Are Crazy!” in 2025, the addition of these talented voice actors and the creative team behind the scenes promise an exciting and entertaining anime experience for fans of detective stories and comedy alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this upcoming series!
