TV Asahi recently announced that the popular manga “Kujira’s Changes of Heart” will be adapted into a live-action television series. The series is set to premiere on January 11 at 11:00 p.m. JST on TV Asahi’s Oshidora Saturday block and its affiliated channels. The show will feature Kaito Miyachika as Hijiri Akiyama and Wakana Aoi as Koyori Hoshi.
The story revolves around Koyori, who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, seeks solace at her friend Hijiri’s house. Unexpectedly, the night takes a romantic turn, leading to a confession of love from Hijiri. Koyori, torn between her feelings for her childhood friend and the fear of ruining their friendship, must navigate her emotions amidst the complexities of her past relationship.
The manga, originally serialized in Kodansha’s Comic Tint magazine in 2018, concluded with its ninth volume in 2022. Kodansha USA Publishing holds the license for the series and describes it as a heartwarming tale of love, friendship, and self-discovery.
