Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime adaptation of the manga “Bogus Skill <<fruitmaster>> ~About that time I became able to eat unlimited numbers of Skill Fruits (that kill you)~” for the winter 2025 season. The story follows a boy named Light who dreams of becoming the greatest adventurer. He and his friend Lena eat skill fruits, which are deadly if eaten more than once. Lena gains the powerful Sword Saint skill, while Light is stuck with the seemingly useless Nut Master skill. However, after accidentally eating a second skill fruit, Light gains the Sword Saint skill as well.
The anime will premiere on TV on January 7, with an early screening at the Anime Frontier event on December 6. The series will be available for streaming in various regions, and VTubers Lamy Yukihana and “Aglio, Olio e Peperoncino” will perform the opening theme song “Bravely Dance.”
The original story was written by Hanyuu and debuted on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in May 2020. The manga adaptation by Air Matsukoto began serializing in July 2021. The series is set in a fantasy world where adventurers strive to gain powerful skills through mysterious fruits, with unexpected consequences.
