NHK recently announced the lineup for the 75th Kōhaku Uta Gassen, Japan’s popular music television program. The show will feature 20 female musical acts in the Red Team and 21 male musical acts in the White Team. This year, there will be 3 new acts in the Red Team and 7 new acts in the White Team.
Among the lineup are well-known artists such as aiko, Aimyon, Sayuri Ishikawa, and TWICE in the Red Team, and GLAY, Masaharu Fukuyama, and Gen Hoshino in the White Team. Notably, for the second year in a row, no Starto Entertainment artists will be performing on the show.
Special events during the live show will include a performance by singer Kiyoshi Hikawa. Some of the new acts making their debut on the show include ILLIT, tuki., ME:I, Omoinotake, Creepy Nuts, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
The hosts for the show were also announced, with comedian Hiroiki Ariyoshi, actresses Kanna Hashimoto and Sairi Itō, and NHK announcer Naouko Suzuki taking on the role.
