Game Source Entertainment recently announced the upcoming release of the new rhythm game Ratatan for various gaming platforms in 2025. Developed by TVT and Ratata Arts, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC.
Ratatan is described as a “rhythmic roguelike action game” and is a collaboration between game designer Hiroyuki Kotani, known for the popular game Patapon, and Tokyo Virtual Theory. The game will offer side-scrolling action gameplay with online co-op for up to four players. The character design and illustrations for Ratatan will be done by Nelnel.
Fans got a sneak peek at Ratatan with a playable demo showcased at the Game Source Entertainment booth during the WePlay Expo 2024 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition from November 16 to November 17. The demo allowed players to experience the unique gameplay and style of the upcoming rhythm game.
Sony also hinted at a new project in the Patapon series earlier in the year, generating excitement among fans of the franchise. The original Patapon game was first released for the PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2007 and later in the West in 2008. The series has since seen sequels like Patapon 2 in 2008 and Patapon 3 in 2011.
With the announcement of Ratatan and the involvement of Hiroyuki Kotani, fans of rhythm games can look forward to a new and exciting gaming experience in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates on the release of Ratatan and get ready to embark on a musical adventure unlike any other!
