The latest project from Laid-Back Camp creator Afro’s mono anime has announced the casting of Hikaru Tohno in a new character role. In the upcoming series about the “cinephoto” club members, Tohno will voice the character Sakurako Shikishima, a second-year student and former president of the film studies club who is now a member of the cinephoto club.
The anime is set to debut in 2025, with Haruna Mikawa voicing the character Satsuki Amamiya and Aoi Koga voicing An Kiriyama. Directed by Ryota Aikei and produced by Aniplex, the series promises to bring a fresh perspective to the high school girls in the cinephoto club, blending cinema and photography in a unique way.
Afro, the creator of Laid-Back Camp, originally launched the four-panel manga in 2017, following the success of their previous work. The manga has been well-received, with the fourth volume released in April 2024.
