The trailer for this special has been released, featuring the new ending theme song “Love Candle” performed by the actors who play key characters in the series.
The special compilation will focus on the love story of the main characters, while also including episodes that were not part of the original anime series. Series director Yoshiko Okuda will be at the helm of this special project. The screening is scheduled to start on December 13, shortly after the release of the anime’s soundtrack, which includes the new ending theme song.
Creator Yuu Toyota shared insights into the creation of Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! in an interview with Otaku USA. She revealed that the idea for the story stemmed from the concept of a person who, upon touching someone, gains the ability to hear their thoughts. Toyota thought this premise would be intriguing in a romantic comedy manga, and thus combined it with the Japanese urban myth that “30 years of virginity can make you a wizard” to create the foundation for Cherry Magic.
The original manga is published by Square Enix Manga & Books, and it follows the story of Adachi, a thirty-year-old virgin who can read people’s minds by touching them. When he accidentally touches his attractive colleague, Adachi discovers that he has feelings for himself.
