The live-action film adaptation of Momoko Kōda’s manga “Atashino!” has released a main video clip on its official website. The clip showcases the rivalry between best friends Akoko and Mitsuki as they compete for the love of Naomi Mitomo. The film is set to premiere in Japan on November 8th.

The movie stars Miho Watanabe as Akoko Sekikawa, Masaya Kimura as Naomi Mitomo, Nagisa Saitō as Mitsuki Taniguchi, and Jūtarō Yamanaka as Ao Narita. The film is directed by Mitsunori Yokobori, with Satoko Okazaki penning the script and Kōji Endō composing the music.

“Atashino!” follows the story of Akoko Sekikawa, a high school girl who is honest and direct in her actions. When she falls for Naomi Mitomo, she immediately pursues him, despite Mitsuki’s skepticism about the nature of Akoko’s feelings. As the story unfolds, relationships between the characters deepen and evolve.

The manga, originally serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine, concluded in 2019. Yen Press has released some of Kōda’s other works in English.

The film promises to bring the beloved characters to life on the big screen, capturing the essence of the original manga. Fans of the series can look forward to experiencing the story in a new and exciting format.
