A new trailer has been released for the upcoming anime “I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons,” based on the light novel series by Izumi Sawano. The anime, also known as “Kisaki Kyoiku kara Nigetai Watashi,” will feature Jun Fukuyama’s opening theme song, “Kimi to Shika Koi Shinai.” Fukuyama will also voice the character Clarke, while Haruka Shiraishi will voice Leticia. Additional cast members include Wataru Hatano as Nadir and Yuka Saito as Brianna. The ending theme, “Alibi na Curtsy,” will be performed by DIALOGUE+.
The premiere date for the series has been set for January 5, 2025. The anime is being produced by EMT Squared, with Shinobu Tagashira of “Diabolik Lovers” serving as director and character designer. Tomoco Kanemaki, known for the “Kingdom Hearts” novels, is handling the series scripts, while the music is being composed by Naoyuki Chikatani and Yuki Kanabayashi.
The original light novel series and its manga adaptation are published by J-Novel Club, with over a million copies in circulation. The story follows Duchess Leticia Dorman, who has been betrothed to Crown Prince Clarke since childhood. Feeling suffocated by the strict princess lessons, Lettie hopes that the prince will lose interest in her. However, when Clarke arrives at a royal ball with another woman, Lettie believes her engagement is off and escapes to the countryside. To her surprise, Clarke insists that she is still his fiancée and is determined to win her over. Lettie, on the other hand, is set on resisting his advances and breaking free from her royal obligations.
