J-Novel Club recently announced the launch of a new boys’ love (BL) imprint called “Knight” during the MCM London Comic Con event. The company, known for its digital releases of light novels and manga, plans to introduce new series under this imprint in early 2025. J-Novel Club, which was founded in October 2016, offers subscribers access to a new chapter every week for all its series.
In 2021, Kadokawa acquired J-Novel Club, further expanding its reach in the publishing industry. Earlier this year, J-Novel Club entered into a print distribution agreement with Hachette Book Group through Yen Press and Diamond Book Distributors. Under this agreement, Hachette will distribute J-Novel Club’s frontlist and backlist titles in North America, while Diamond Book will handle international sales.
The introduction of the Knight imprint reflects J-Novel Club’s commitment to diversifying its offerings and catering to a wider range of readers. With the growing popularity of BL content in the manga and light novel market, this new imprint is poised to attract fans of the genre and contribute to the company’s continued success.
As the landscape of the publishing industry evolves, J-Novel Club’s strategic partnerships and innovative approach to content distribution position it as a key player in the market. By staying attuned to the preferences of readers and adapting to changing trends, J-Novel Club continues to make significant strides in expanding its presence and engaging with audiences on a global scale.
