In 2019, director Kenji Iwaisawa debuted his film ON-GAKU: Our Sound at the Ottawa Film Festival. The film tells the story of three high school delinquents who form a band, using rotoscope animation instead of conventional animation. For his next film, Hyakuemu, Iwaisawa is once again looking for extras to participate in the climax of the movie.
The director posted a casting call on October 11 for extras to participate in the filming on October 28 in Fukaya City, Saitama. The specific location will be provided later, and filming will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. under the working name “Taiko Matsuri (Drum Festival) in Fukaya.” Despite it being a weekday, Iwaisawa encourages anyone available to participate to come and join the festival.
To apply to be an extra, interested individuals must submit their name, age, gender, and phone number to [email protected] by October 23. If selected, participants will receive the exact filming location in Fukaya City. The director expressed excitement for the festival and the opportunity for participants to be a part of his new animated movie.
This casting call provides a unique opportunity for fans of the director’s work to get involved in the filmmaking process and experience the magic behind the scenes. Being an extra in a film can be a fun and memorable experience, allowing participants to see firsthand how movies are made and potentially even appear on the big screen. If you’re a fan of ON-GAKU: Our Sound or interested in the world of animation, this is a chance to be a part of something special. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to join the festivities and become a part of Hyakuemu!
