Warner Bros. Japan recently unveiled the main trailer and additional cast members for their upcoming CG anime film, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League. The new cast includes Ayane Sakura as Green Lantern, Akio Ōtsuka as Aquaman, Nobuyuki Hiyama as The Flash, Romi Park as Wonder Woman, and Kazuhiro Yamaji as Ra’s al Ghul.

The film will feature a star-studded cast with Kōichi Yamadera as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Yūki Kaji as Robin, Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin, Daisuke Ono as Nightwing, Akira Ishida as Red Hood, Hōchū Ohtsuka as Alfred Pennyworth, Masaki Terasoma as James Gordon, Wataru Takagi as The Joker, and Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn.

Junpei Mizusaki, known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, will be directing the film alongside Shinji Takagi. The animation studio Kamikaze Douga, which worked on the original Batman Ninja film, will be handling the animation once again. Other returning staff members include scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and composer Yūgo Kanno.

For those unfamiliar with the premise, Batman Ninja takes the Dark Knight back in time to Japan’s Warring States period, where he battles familiar villains like The Joker in a feudal setting. The original film was released digitally in 2018 and later on home video, with both Japanese and English audio options available.

In addition to the anime film, Batman Ninja inspired a manga adaptation by Masato Hisa, which won a Seiun Award in 2020. The franchise also saw a stage play adaptation in 2021.

Fans of the Caped Crusader and anime enthusiasts alike can look forward to the epic showdown between Batman and the Yakuza League in this highly anticipated film. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
