The life-sized moving Gundam statue that rose above Yokohama’s Yamashita Pier in December 2020 allowed fans to play rock-paper-scissors with the mobile suit. Although the game was thought to be over on March 31, the Science Museum in Tokyo’s Kitanomaru Park announced a new exhibit featuring the life-size Gundam’s hands for the Gundam Next Future Science Exhibit. This exhibit allows visitors to play rock-paper-scissors with the iconic Gundam hands.
The exhibit runs from October 3 to October 22 and features three sections: Space Age of Technology, The Possibility of MS, and Innovation of Future Lifestyles. The highlight for Gundam fans is the opportunity to participate in a rock-paper-scissors game with the life-size Gundam hands. However, only four people can play during each one-hour interval from 10:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. To prepare fans for the game, the Science Museum posted a video on its X account showcasing the RX-78F00 Gundam’s hands.
Admission to the Science Museum is 950 yen for adults, 850 yen for individuals over 65, 600 yen for middle and high school students, and 500 yen for children over 4 years old. People with special needs can receive a discount by presenting their disability or medical certificate. The museum will be closed on October 9 and October 16 during the Gundam Next Future Science Exhibit.
This interactive exhibit provides fans with a unique opportunity to engage with the iconic Gundam hands and experience the world of Mobile Suit Gundam through cutting-edge technology. Don’t miss out on the chance to play rock-paper-scissors with life-size Gundam hands at the Science Museum in Tokyo!
