The first promotional video for the anime adaptation of the light novel series Demon Lord 2099 was revealed at the Aniplex Online Fest 2024 event. The video gives a preview of Shiyui’s opening theme song “Hollow.” The series will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll in English-speaking, Latin America, and European countries.

The anime is set to debut on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11 on October 12 at 24:00 (effectively October 13 at 12:00 a.m.). Following this, it will air on MBS, AT-X, and Chukyo TV. Japanese viewers can catch the series on d Anime Store and ABEMA.

The main cast includes Satoshi Hino as Demon Lord Veltol and Miku Itō as Machina. Other notable voice actors are Daisuke Namikawa, Masaya Matsukaze, Shizuka Itō, and Hana Hishikawa. The anime is directed by Ryo Ando at J.C. Staff, with Yūichirō Momose handling the scripts and Ryousuke Tanigawa designing the characters. Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, and Tatsuya Katō is composing the music.

In addition to the opening theme “Hollow” by Shiyui, the ending theme “Spira” will be performed by sekai. Yen Press has released the English version of the novels, which tells the story of the Demon Lord Veltol’s return in the year 2099, set in the prosperous yet dark city-state of Shinjuku.

A manga adaptation of the novels is also in the works by Kiiro Akashiro on Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace+ website. Fans can look forward to the thrilling fantasy world and unique characters that Demon Lord 2099 promises to bring to the screen.
