The recent Aniplex Online Fest 2024 event unveiled more exciting details about the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Seiju Amano’s “Class no Dai Kirai na Joshi to Kekkon suru Koto ni Natta” (I Ended Up Marrying the Girl in My Class I Hated the Most) story. The promotional video released during the event revealed that the series is scheduled to premiere in January 2025.

Along with the premiere date announcement, the event also introduced new cast members and shared updates about the ending theme song. Hinaki Yano will be performing the ending theme titled “Suki Kirai mo Oikoshite” (Overtaking Love and Hate).

The newly announced cast members include Sayumi Suzushiro as Himari Ishikura, Nene Hieda as Shisei Hojo, Hōchū Ohtsuka as Tenryu Hojo, and Fumi Hirano as Chiyo Sakuramori. The main cast features Hinaki Yano as Akane Sakuramori and Shōgo Sakata as Saito Hōjō.

Directed by Hiroyuki Oshima, known for his work on series like “Kill la Kill” and “Teasing Master Takagi-san,” the anime is being produced at Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ. Tatsuya Takahashi is overseeing the series scripts, Nanako Tatsu is in charge of character design, and Arisa Okehazama is composing the music. EGG FIRM is the production company behind the series.

The story revolves around third-year high school student Saito Hōjō, who finds himself in an unexpected marriage with his classmate and longtime rival, Akane Sakuramori. The romantic comedy explores the married life of two individuals who started off on the wrong foot with each other.

The original story of “Class no Dai Kirai na Joshi to Kekkon suru Koto ni Natta” began as a YouTube manga in March 2020, gaining over 3 million views on the Manga Angel Neko Oka channel. The light novel adaptation was published by Kadokawa in December 2020, with illustrations by Nanami Narumi. The manga adaptation by Mosskonbu started in May 2021 in Kadokawa’s Shōnen Ace Plus web manga magazine.

With a unique premise and a talented team behind its production, “I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class” is set to bring a heartwarming and comedic story to the screens in 2025. Fans of romantic comedies and school life anime have something to look forward to with this upcoming series.
