The cast for the project includes well-known voice actors such as Natsuki Hanae, Nobunaga Shimazaki, Kōichi Yamadera, Inori Minase, Ayane Sakura, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Yūichi Nakamura, Kōki Uchiyama, Kana Hanazawa, and Mamoru Miyano. The original work and direction are credited to Li Haolin at BeDream, with collaboration from bilibili and Aniplex. The To Be Hero X project is a follow-up to the original 12-episode To Be Hero series that aired in Japan back in 2016. The sequel series, To Be Heroine, followed in 2018, both directed by Li Haolin.
