The popular anime series, Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya, has been renewed for a third season in 2025. This announcement came from the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the anime project, which is based on a CryptoNinja non-fungible token (NFT) project. The series, directed by Akifumi Nonaka and written by Toru Hosokawa, has gained a significant following since its first season premiered in October 2023.

The story follows the theft of the Crypto Scroll in the ninja city of Kōka, leading to a fierce competition among ninja. Protagonists Sakuya, Nemu, and Xiaolan must join forces to reclaim the scroll and restore peace. The project, known for its unique concept of incorporating NFT characters into a television anime series, has garnered attention from fans and investors alike.

The CryptoNinja NFT project was launched in 2021 by investor Ikehaya, featuring illustrations by Rii2 tied to digital tokens. By 2022, the project had become Japan’s largest and most active NFT community, earning significant revenue and attracting a large following of fans and creators. The collaboration between anime studio Fanworks, online pop culture commerce company Tokyo Otaku Mode, startup incubator platform Tsucrea, and digital content company The Battle has been instrumental in bringing this innovative project to life.

Fans can look forward to the upcoming third season, which promises to continue the exciting adventures of Sakuya and her fellow CryptoNinjas. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from the Shinobanai! CryptoNinja Sakuya anime series as it continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of digital art and storytelling.
