The latest character video for the anime “Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms” has revealed a new cast member. Kana Hanazawa will voice the character Tsubomi Haruno, a laid-back girl who is a big fan of Mona, the main character in the series.

The anime, set to premiere in 2025, stars Yū Serizawa as Mona Kawai, Ryōta Iwasaki as Medaka Kuroiwa, and Sora Amamiya as Asahi Shonan. The director of the anime is Yoshiaki Okumura, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling the series scripts, and Mayumi Watanabe designing the characters. Akiyuki Tateyama is composing the music for the series.

The story follows Mona, the cutest girl in school, who is determined to catch the eye of Medaka Kuroiwa, a stoic and cold student. Medaka, raised at a temple and told to avoid getting close to women, presents a challenge for Mona. The series explores their dynamic and the battle of wills between them.

The manga, written by Ran Kuze, was first published as a one-shot in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in December 2020 and began full serialization in May 2021. Kodansha USA Publishing handles the English release of the manga both digitally and physically.
