Crunchyroll has exciting news for anime fans attending New York Comic-Con this year. The popular streaming platform will be hosting panels for two highly anticipated anime projects: Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

Director Naoyuki Itō and Madhouse producer Kentaro Hashimoto will be present at the Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom panel on October 19th at 12:45 p.m. EDT. A new trailer for the film was revealed by Crunchyroll, generating even more buzz for the upcoming release. The film will have regular screenings in Japan starting on September 20, with IMAX screenings beginning a week earlier on September 13. International audiences can look forward to Crunchyroll screening the film in various regions, including North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, starting on November 8.

In addition to Overlord, Fairy Tail manga creator Hiro Mashima will also be making an appearance at New York Comic-Con. Mashima will participate in a panel titled “Spotlight on Hiro Mashima: Creator of Fairy Tail” on October 18 at 11:30 a.m. EDT. Fans can expect discussions about the Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime and possibly some exciting announcements.

Furthermore, Crunchyroll will showcase a world premiere trailer for MAPPA’s ZENSHU anime at their industry panel on October 18 at 6:30 p.m. EDT. The streaming platform will also collaborate with Tapas and Yen Press to host a panel with webtoon creator TurtleMe, creator of The Beginning After the End, on October 19 at 10:45 a.m. EDT.

Not to be outdone, Warner Bros. Pictures will be bringing The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim to New York Comic-Con. The highly anticipated anime film will have a panel featuring director Kenji Kamiyama, screenwriters Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, producers Philippa Boyens, Jason DeMarco, and Joseph Chou, as well as cast members Brian Cox, Gaia Wise, and Luke Pasqualino. The panel, moderated by Stephen Colbert, will take place on October 18 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
