The stage play for Fruits Basket The Final, based on Natsuki Takaya’s manga, has revealed a new visual and promo video. The play will feature 16 cast members and will run from October 18 to October 27 in Tokyo. Gaku Matsuda will play both Akira Sohma and God in the play.
Returning cast members include Ayano-Christie Yoshida as Tohru Honda, Naoya Kitagawa as Yuki Sohma, Shōhei Hashimoto as Kyo Sohma, and more. Two new cast members, Yūto Hiroi and Nene Shida, will join the production as Kakeru Manabe and Isuzu Sohma, respectively.
The original Fruits Basket manga was serialized from 1998-2006 and inspired a 26-episode anime series in 2001. A three-season reboot anime aired from 2019-2021, along with a compilation film titled Fruits Basket -prelude- in February 2022. The manga was released in English by Tokyopop and later re-released by Yen Press in 12 omnibus volumes.
