The Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: EZY (Patlabor EZY) anime project recently announced its production staff and released a new teaser visual. The upcoming anime, set to debut in 2026, is being produced by J.C.Staff.

The team behind the project includes notable names such as Director Yutaka Izubuchi, Series Composition and Script by Kazunori Itou, Original Character Design by Masami Yuuki, Character Design and Chief Animation Director by Takamitsu Satou, and Costume Design Cooperation by Akemi Takada. The mechanical design is being handled by Kanetake Ebikawa and Toshiaki Ihara, with art direction by Masanori Kikuchi and Yuuta Akiyama, CG direction by Yasutomo Moriizumi, and music by Kenji Kawai.

In addition to the new anime, fans can look forward to a revival screening of the 1989 film “Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor the Movie” directed by Mamoru Oshii in theaters nationwide. The film will be shown alongside a two-minute pilot film on September 20.

The original announcement for the Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: EZY project was made at the MIFA market at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2017. Created by the group HEADGEAR, the franchise began with a manga and original video anime in 1988 and has since expanded to include two original video anime series, a television anime, and three movies. The latest movie, “WXIII Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor,” was released in 2002.

Fans of the series can also enjoy the “Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor: Reboot” short movie by animation studio Khara, which premiered in October 2016.
