A new autumn-themed visual update has been revealed for the upcoming Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood TV anime series, focusing on Jin Kougasaki, one of Shiki’s classmates. The anime is set to debut in 2025 and is licensed by Remow, known as Tougen Anki: Dark Demon of Paradise. The main voice cast includes Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and Kotaro Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki.
The original dark fantasy adventure manga series by Yura Urushibara first appeared in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion on June 11, 2020, and has since released 21 tankobon volumes by September 2024. Prior to the anime adaptation, there was a stage play adaptation in 2024, considered the initial phase of the Tougen Anki project.
Yen Press is responsible for releasing Tougen Anki in English and offers the following synopsis: Shiki Ichinose, born with Oni blood, is taken in by his father, who is of Momotarou descent. Despite the typical animosity between Momotarou bloodlines and Oni, Shiki’s father chooses to raise him, leading to a tale of revenge when his father is killed by a member of the Momotarou Agency. As Shiki develops his Oni abilities, the question arises: will he be strong enough to survive the challenges ahead?
