Warner Bros. Japan recently unveiled a character clip and more Japanese cast members for the upcoming Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League anime film. The film, a CG anime, will feature a star-studded Japanese cast including Yūki Kaji as Robin, Kengo Kawanishi as Red Robin, Daisuke Ono as Nightwing, Akira Ishida as Red Hood, Hōchū Ohtsuka as Alfred, and Masaki Terasoma as Gordon.

The film is set to be showcased as part of the “Bats in Translation” panel at New York Comic-Con on October 17 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The returning director, Junpei Mizusaki, known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, will be leading the project alongside Shinji Takagi. The animation studio Kamikaze Douga, which previously worked on Batman Ninja, will be handling the animation once again. Other returning staff members include scriptwriter Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and composer Yūgo Kanno.

Fans will be delighted to know that Kōichi Yamadera will be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the film. Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is a sequel to the original Batman Ninja film, where Batman finds himself transported back to Japan’s Warring States period and faces off against familiar villains in a feudal setting.

The original Batman Ninja film was released digitally in April 2018 and on home video in May 2018, featuring both Japanese and English audio tracks. It premiered in Japanese theaters in June 2018 and later aired on Toonami in October 2021. The film also inspired a manga adaptation by Masato Hisa, which won a Seiun Award in 2020, as well as a stage play in 2021.
